Reigning U.S. women's javelin champion Ariana Ince, along with eight-time winner and American record holder Kara Winger discuss with DyeStat editor Erik Boal about their time living and training together in Colorado Springs during the Coronavirus pandemic. They also reflect on their experiences being teammates and roommates last year at both the Pan American Games in Peru, where Winger captured the gold medal and Ince earned bronze, as well as the World Championships in Doha, Qatar. Ince revisits her decision to leave San Diego and travel to Colorado after the Training Center in Chula Vista was shut down because of the pandemic, and Winger shares how her husband Russ has improved their training facilities by building a device in the backyard that features a cable wire and a metal tube, which allows the simulation of javelin throwing exercises. Both individuals also discuss the possibilities for virtual javelin competitions, including events that simulate Tic-Tac-Toe and Battleship.
