Recent graduates of North Canyon High in Arizona and members of the state-record 4x400-meter relay Jayde Charlton, Delphine Dah, Jadyn Mays and Dominique Mustin discuss with DyeStat editor Erik Boal the legacy they built by capturing three consecutive AIA Division 2 state championships and the disappointment of not being able to challenge for a fourth title during their senior year because of the Coronavirus pandemic. After running 3:42.46 in the 4x400 last season, the team shares the goal they had for running sub-3:40 and trying to prevail in that event for the first time at the Arcadia Invitational. Mustin, also the state record holder in the 800 at 2:06.01, revists recent Highland High graduate Leo Daschbach producing a new Arizona all-time mark in the mile by running 3:59.54. Charlton and Dah talk about their opportunities at the next level at Sacramento State and Utah State, respectively. Mays expresses her excitement to be part of the first team at Oregon to compete next year at the new Hayward Field. And Mustin looks ahead to joining a national title contender at Texas A&M and the opportunity to continue the family tradition of competing in college after older sister Drianna recently completed her career at Colorado.
