Track historian and records-keeper Jack Pfeifer joins DyeStat editor Doug Binder to talk about a years-long project to create a records progression list for every high school track and field event for boys and girls. The nature of the list makes it a historical document that connects to societal chances in the U.S. dating back 140 years. Pfeifer discusses some of the major turning points in the history of high school track and field in the U.S. that created the sport as it is today.
