Maggard, who ran a 4:04 mile time trial at 4,534 feet elevation in his final tuneup for the race, covered the final lap in 59 seconds to edge HOKA ONE ONE Northern Arizona Elite athlete and former BYU All-American Rory Linkletter (13:50.72).
