Rising high school seniors Sydney Masciarelli of Northbridge, Mass., and Brynn Brown of Denton, Texas, both verbally committed Monday to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The pair, along with Makayla Paige of Tewksbury, Mass., are part of an all-star distance class assembled by Chris Miltenberg, the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at UNC. Masciarelli attends Marianapolis Prep in Connecticut, Brown competes for Denton Guyer and Paige, who verbally committed Sunday, runs for Tewksbury Memorial. Masciarelli and Brown both committed to UNC without being able to take official recruiting visits.
