Finn McCormick, a junior at Nova Classical Academy in Minnesota, placed second in his wave in the small school section at the Twin Cities Running Company XC Showcase at Island Pine Golf Course in Atwater. McCormick covered the 5-kilometer layout in 16:46.91 to place ninth overall out of the 117 athletes participating. Nova Classical Academy won the team title, placing five athletes among the first 10 finishers in its wave and producing five scorers in the top 40 overall to prevail against Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin by a 78-91 margin. The small school section is taking the place of the Class A final at the MSHSL state meet.
