Eva Bruce, a junior at Sabino High, was the only athlete to capture four individual titles at the AIA Outdoor State Championships at Desert Vista High in Phoenix. Bruce prevailed in the Division 3 100-meter dash in 12.39 seconds, won the 200 in 24.81, secured the 300-meter hurdles in 44.04 and achieved a leap of 18-3.50 (5.57m) to triumph in the long jump for the Sabercats, who took second overall with only five scoring athletes producing 102 points.
