Katharine Beachler, representing Omaha West Track and Millard North High in Nebraska, placed second in the girls 15-16 javeling throw final with a fifth-round mark of 130-5 (39.76m) at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships at Sacramento State. Beachler, entering her junior year, also took third in the shot put final with a 40-6 (12.34m) effort in the sixth round, along with finishing fifth in the discus throw with a fifth-round performance of 132-5 (40.38m). She also placed 11th in the hammer throw final at 119-1 (36.31m).
