Ida B. Wells senior Asher Danielson emerged this fall as the top runner in Class 6A in Oregon after taking 16th at the state meet in 2022. Danielson joins DyeStat editor Doug Binder to discuss his progress since taking up the sport freshman year and how previous standouts at Ida B. Wells, from Alex Slenning to Giuliano Scasso to Kai Mitchell-Reiss have given him incentive to keep pushing himself to get better. Danielson also addresses the looming teachers' strike within Portland Public Schools, which could limit his access to his coaches this coming weekend at Lane Community College. Danielson said he is confident that the setback will be minimal and that he and his teammates will make the necessary adjustments to have a successful weekend.
