Maya DeBrouwer, a junior at La Canada High in California, became the first female athlete in program history to represent the school at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif. DeBrouwer is also the first La Canada competitor since Andy DiConti in 1979 to race at a national final in San Diego.
