Florence Uwajeneza, a graduate student-athlete at West Texas A&M, took third in the fastest section of the women's 10,000 meters in 32:52.54 at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University's Cougar Stadium in Azusa, Calif. Uwajeneza, who ran 32:49.06 at the meet last season, became only the second female athlete in NCAA Division 2 history to produce a pair of sub-33 efforts in her career, joining former Alaska Anchorage star and division record holder Caroline Kurgat.
