Amaya Aramini, a Notre Dame-bound senior at Bishop Manogue High in Reno, placed 16th in the girls invitational 3,200 meters in 10:16.53, achieving the Nevada all-time best prep performance at the 56th Arcadia Invitational at Arcadia High in Arcadia, Calif. Aramini eclipsed the 10:20.95 standard established in 2006 by Mel Lawrence of Reno High at the adidas Golden West Invitational. Aramini also ran 9:40.25 for the 3,000-meter split, lowering Lawrence's state all-time mark of 9:45.43 from the 2005 Pan American Junior Championships in Canada.
