Max Daniels, a junior at UC Irvine, won Group B in the men's decathlon with a personal-best 7,435 points at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University's Cougar Stadium in Azusa, Calif. Daniels began the two-day scheduled by winning the 100-meter dash in 10.66 seconds and prevailing in the long jump with a leap of 24-3 (7.39m), and placed in the top five in eight of 10 events overall.
