Josh Farmer, a senior at UC Irvine, took third in the elite section of the men's decathlon with a lifetime-best 7,703 points at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University's Cougar Stadium in Azusa, Calif. Farmer improved on his previous-best performance of 7,648 points, relying on a strong finish with a 178-10 (54.51m) javelin throw and clocking 4:37.31 in the 1,500 meters to secure second place in each of the last two events.
