Sylvan Osman, a senior at Lake Havasu High, repeated as winner of the Division 2 boys pole vault crown with a first-attempt clearance at 15-6 (4.72m) at the Arizona Interscholastic Association state championship meet at Deer Valley High. Osman needed a third-attempt clearance at 15 feet (4.57m) to extend the competition, before holding off Michael Mickelson of Casteel High, who needed multiple attempts to clear 15-6.
