Nicole Warwick, a senior at Azusa Pacific University, produced the best all-conditions mark in NCAA Division 2 history with her wind-aided effort of 22-4.25 (6.81m) in the fifth round of the women's long jump final at Francis G. Welch Stadium at Emporia State University in Kansas. Warwick surpassed the wind-legal 22-0.75 (6.72m) performance of former Cal State Los Angeles standout Christy Opara in 1992. Warwick also won the Division 2 indoor long jump crown with a 21-6 (6.55m) leap in March at Pittsburg State. Warwick also qualified for the 100-meter hurdles final by winning her semifinal heat in a wind-legal 13.45 seconds.
