Drew Griffith, a Notre Dame-bound senior at Butler Area High in Pennsylvania, won the boys championship mile in 3:59.00 at New Balance Nationals Outdoor at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. Griffith, who ran 3:57.72 on May 30 at HOKA Festival of Miles in St. Louis, became the fifth male athlete in U.S. prep history to achieve multiple mile performances of 3:59 or faster in the same year.
