Sophomores Ava Mitchell, Emily Lamontagne and Ava Escorcia helped Arapahoe place second in the girls 5A final by all placing in the top 15 at the Colorado High School Activities Association state championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Mitchell, competing in the second wave, finished fourth by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 18:13.16, Lamontagne secured eighth in 18:34.25 and Escorcia was 14th in 18:53.05, as Arapahoe took runner-up to Cherry Creek by a 42-82 margin.
