Sophomore Madison Shults and senior Taylor James, representing Niwot High and REAL Training, contributed to a victory in the open/unattached/club girls 4x400-meter relay in 3:50.75 at the NIKE Chandler Rotary Invitational. Shults rallied from sixth on the final lap to win the open/unattached/club girls mile in 4:47.14, including a 4:45.81 split for 1,600 meters, with James prevailing in the open/unattached/club girls 800 meters in 2:09.44 at Austin Field in Chandler, Ariz. James, a Stanford signee, also clocked 56.47 to finish second in the 400 meters and ran 25.18 in the 200 to place fifth overall. Shults was fourth overall in the 400 in 57.27.
