Jake Stafford, a senior at JSerra High in California, won the Division 3 boys title in the high jump with a 6-8 (2.03m) clearance at the CIF Southern Section finals at Moorpark High. Stafford also finished fourth in the discus throw with a 164-3 (50.07m) performance and secured seventh in the shot put with a mark of 46-4.50 (14.26m) for the Lions, who were second as a team in the Division 3 competition with 56 points.
