IMG Academy from Florida became the first Southeast program in meet history to win the girls high school sweepstakes with an 87-98 victory over Desert Vista of Arizona at the 14th annual Desert Twilight Festival at The Links at Queen Creek in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Tatum David won the 5-kilometer race in 16:41.41, Jais Ward was seventh in 18:03.14, Carly McNatt placed ninth in 18:12.02, Emilia Puskas took 23rd in 19:03.82 and Eve Siff-Scherr secured 54th in 20:13.94. Mia Andreae was 63rd in 20:27.59 and Marcela Guzman finished 66th in 20:34.48 for IMG Academy, which denied Desert Vista its record fifth girls sweepstakes championship.
