Air Pollution May Delay Almaz Ayana's Half Marathon DebutPublished by
Airtel Delhi Half Marathon Organizers Looking at Ways to Avoid New Delhi Air PollutionBy Adam Kopet As was reported earlier this month, Ethiopia's Almaz Ayana will make her half marathon debut Sunday at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. However, according to News18, race organizers are looking at changing the date and time of the event because of dangerous levels of air pollution. That will be difficult with people arriving to race from around the world. The race organizers are currently hoping conditions will improve in the next six days. Roads are being sprayed with salt water. Also, all vehicles will be off the roads in the 12 hours prior to the race start. If those efforts are not enough, the race might get pushed back, but how that will work has not been publicized. |
