Wayde Van Niekerk's Coach, Ans Botha, Named 2017 IAAF Coach of the Year

Ans Botha Named 2017 IAAF Coach of the Year for Guiding Wayde Van Niekerk to Gold and Silver at World Championships

Sport24 is reporting that Ans Botha will be awarded the 2017 IAAF Coach of the Year Award.

Botha has coached Wayde Van Niekerk to two world titles and one Olympic championship in the 400 meters. He has also broken the 400-meter world record in last year's Olympic final.

This year, she coached Van Niekerk to one of those world titles, as well as a silver in the 200 meters. He also broke Usain Bolt's world record in the 300 meters.

Botha, 75, hails from Namibia. She earned the South Africa Coach of the Year award in 2016.
