Summit girls score 92 of team's 95-pt total

Highlights

- Summit pulled out the team championship in the final race of the meet. Leading by eight points, the girls 4x400 relay needed seventh or better to secure the title and ended up beating second-place Grant for the win and the overall championship, 95 to 85. Incredibly, 92 of Summit's 95 points came from the school's girls.

- Harrison Schrage and Ella Donaghu were responsible for 60 of Grant's 85 points. Schrage won the long jump (24-5) and triple jump (48-11) and was third in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. Donaghu won the 800 meters and ran on the winning DMR and second-place 4x400 relay.

- In the college/open 1,500 meters on Friday, Katie Rainsberger ran unattached and won a race that included former U.S. team members Geena Gall and Maggie Vessey, in 4:17.52.

- The Mountain View ID boys showed impressive range, with a victory in the 4x800 (7:53.81), third place in the 4x400 and fourth in the DMR. Adrian Jones also won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a nation-leading time of 9:34.38 and his twin brother Andre won the 300-meter hurdles in 38.81.

- Zion Corrales Nelson from St. Thomas More BC won the 100 (11.99) and the 200 (24.78) in her third trip to the Oregon Relays. She is committed to Cal for track and field after also considering offers to play Division I basketball.

- Jackson Mestler of Sheldon outkicked Michael Martin of South Eugene in an entertaining 3,000 meters. Mestler and Martin have been racing each other since middle school in Eugene. Mestler ran 8:29.04 (faster than his father Rick ran to win the 1988 state title) for a new school record. Martin ran a huge PR of 8:31.10.

- Tyren Wolfe of North Medford showed dominance in the sprint races, winning the 100 in 10.70 and the 200 in 21.72. He also anchored the Black Tornado's second place 4x100 relay (42.95).

- Julian Body of Jesuit won the 400 meters in 48.28.

- Westview OR won both the 4x100 (42.41) and the 4x200 (1:28.53) relay titles. The 4x200 was a meet record.

- Wilson of Long Beach CA's boys won the sprint medley relay (3:30.48) and the 4x400 relay (3:20.40).

- Abby Weiler of R.A. Long WA took three attempts at 13-8, which would have been a Washington state record in the pole vault. She missed all three but still won the competition easily with 13-1.50.

- Maddie Rabing of Lakeridge OR won the shot put (47-5) and was third in the hammer and third in the discus.

- With Jack Yearian on the anchor, Bellarmine Prep WA won the distance medley relay in 10:16.33.

- With Ella Donaghu on the anchor for Grant OR, the Generals ran 12:00.42 for the win in the DMR.

- Jesuit OR, with three freshmen in the lineup, ran 9:26.35 to win the girls 4x800 relay.

- Central Catholic OR won the girls 4x100 relay in 48.39.

- Cassidy Steen of Mt. Douglas BC edged out Emily Wilson of Camas WA in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, 11:49.17 to 11:49.24.

- In a freshman boys 3,000 meters with some serious name recognition, Daniel Maton of Camas WA defeated Bradley Peloquin of Gig Harbor WA, 9:06.12 to 9:08.61.

- Deshae Wise of Grants Pass OR won the 100 hurdles in 14.57 to break her own school record.

- Marissa Dobry of St. Mary's (Medford) OR won the girls 3,000 meters with a very strong 9:51.08.
