Several impressive efforts were produced around the state, including Oaks Christian regaining the state lead in the girls 4 x 400 relay, in addition to Lions junior Lauren Rain Williams running the fastest 100-meter dash time in the country under all conditions with her wind-aided effort at the Ventura County Championships, all of which are in contention for DyeStatCAL Performance of the Week. Alyssa Brewer, California/San Ramon: Sophomore enjoyed big breakthrough at Sacramento Meet of Champions, edging St. Francis of Sacramento's Ariane Arndt by 2:09.61 to 2:09.62 margin in girls invitational 800. Tara Davis, Agoura: Captured three gold medals at Ventura County Championships, clocking 13.95 in 100-meter hurdles, leaping 20-3.375 in the long jump and producing an effort of 40-8.5 in the triple jump. Nathan Esparza, Amador Valley: Set the meet shot put record with a mark of 65-9.5, surpassing the 2004 standard of 63-2.75 by Arroyo Grande's Mark Lewis, in addition to winning the discus with a throw of 174-8 at the Sacramento Meet of Champions. Luis Grijalva, Armijo: Following personal-best 4:08.31 in the invitational 1,600 to place second, returned to win invitational 3,200 in 9:06.02 at the Sacramento Meet of Champions. Erika Malaspina, Pacific Collegiate: Broke meet record at Sacramento Meet of Champions by clearing 13-3 in girls pole vault, eclipsing 2007 mark of 13-2 by Castilleja's Tori Anthony. Fiona O’Keeffe, Davis Senior: Clocked 4:47.69 in the girls invitational 1,600 at the Sacramento Meet of Champions. Jasmine Pharms, Stagg: Won the girls invitational shot put with a mark of 48-11.25 at the Sacramento Meet of Champions. Cooper Teare, St. Joseph Notre Dame: Took over the state lead in the 1,600 with his personal-best 4:07.78 at the Sacramento Meet of Champions. Chianne Warner, Knight: Moved into a tie for the state lead with her 5-8 clearance in the high jump at the Golden League prelims. Lauren Rain Williams, Oaks Christian: Ran the fastest 100-meter time in the country under all conditions with her wind-aided 11.35 at the Ventura County Championships, in addition to winning the 200 in 23.17 and running a 54.4 split on the victorious 4 x 400 relay. Jurnee Woodward, Vacaville: Grabbed the state lead with her wind-legal 13.52 in the 100-meter hurdles to edge El Cerrito's Kaylah Robinson in 13.53, in addition to winning the 300 hurdles in 41.66 at the Sacramento Meet of Champions. Oaks Christian girls 4 x 400 relay: Jordann Feinstein, Lauren Rain Williams, Julia Sullivan and Carolyn Wilson ran a state-leading 3:47.99 to win at the Ventura County Championships against former state leader Calabasas.
