FROSH of the Week - Week 7 - DyeStatFL 2016Published by
We’re coming down the final stretch here and our freshman runners are still showing out! Let’s take a look at the freshman class and see who we’re honoring this week! Boys Freshman Rankings Girls Freshman Rankings Casey Pleune (Wharton High School) Taking the top spot this week is Casey Pleune of Wharton High School. Casey takes our spot this week after he ran 16:49 for three miles at the Hillsborough County XC Championships. Solid run kid. Having dropped from running 18:20 at the beginning of the season to having a personal-best of 17:02 in the 5K, he’s made some amazing strides this season and is becoming a very consistent runner. There’s still a few meets left this season that should give him the push that he needs to break that 17-minute barrier. Valerie Lastra (Mater Academy High School) This week’s winner on the girl’s side is Valerie Lastra of Mater Academy High School! Friedman made her way to the top of our list after she won her race at the 18th Annual Lely Trojan Cross Country Invitational. It seems as though she may be taking it a bit easier, not having run close to her personal-best (18:00). Perhaps she’s gearing up to throw down some fast times as we move into the last few weeks of this year’s cross country season! Congratulations to all of our freshman runners who competed this weekend! We hope you ran a personal-best, or maybe even won the race! Run fast, trust your training, and keep an eye out to see who will be next week’s DyeStat Florida Freshman Of The Week! Remember, the future runs now. More news |
