The stacked womens 3,000 meters at the UW Indoor Preview did not disappoint. Kate Grace pulled away from Sifan Hassan over the final lap to win in 8 minutes, 47.26 seconds to break the Dempsey Indoor record in Seattle.

Hassan, the 2016 IAAF World Indoor 1,500 champion, finished second in 8:50.36. Brie Felnagle, now a training partner of Grace, finished third in 8:52.35. All three bettered the old meet record

Utah eighth-grader Grace Ping held her own in the top section, running 9:43.31 for 13th.

In the men's 3,000, Olympic gold medalist Matthew Centrowitz led from start to finish to break the meet record in 7:49.89. Troy Fraley of Gonzaga finished second in 8:00.54.

Tara Davis, a senior from Agoura CA, kept busy by winning the long jump in a US#2 19 feet, 11.75 inches, as well as finishing third in the 60-meter hurdles in a US#1 8.31 seconds and third in the triple jump with a US#5 40-1.50.

Sasha Wallace of Oregon won the women’s 60-meter hurdles in a meet record and NCAA-leading 7.96. Her teammate, Alaysha Johnson finished second in 8.09, also under the meet record, before coming back and winning in the 200 in 24.09.

David Pless broke the meet record in the shot put with a mark of 64-1.75.

Raevyn Rogers of Oregon repeated as Indoor Preview winner in the women's 600, running 1:26.97, just outside her meet record from last year. Olivia Baker of Stanford was second in 1:28.22, 0.01 second in front of Oregon's Brooke Feldmeier.
