Samantha Watson Continues Quest for Sub-Two in SwitzerlandBy Adam Kopet, DyeStat Editor Samantha Watson, the recently graduated Rush-Henrietta NY senior and Texas A&M commit, did not let her quest for a sub-2:00 800 meters stop at the USATF Outdoor Championships last month. She competed Tuesday in the Galà dei Castelli in Bellinzona, Switzerland. Watson finished fourth, running a personal-best 2:00.65, improving on her own No. 3 mark in U.S. prep history. Switzerland's Selina Büchel won the race in 1:59.85. Rounding out the top three were Norway's Hedde Hynne in second (2:00.14) and Italy's Yusneysi Santiusti in third (2:00.17). Watson's previous best came at the adidas Boost Boston Games in June. There she finished second in 2:00.78. More news |
