David Torrence found dead in Scottsdale, Arizona

In a stunning development Monday afternoon, popular running professional David Torrence was found in an Arizona swimming pool and pronoucned dead at the scene, per azfamily.com.

Torrence, 31, represented his mother's native Peru in the 2016 Olympic Games. 

He grew up in California and attended Loyola High and the University of California, where he developed into a standout. He also represented the U.S. on more than one occasion early in his career and ran a lifetime-best mile of 3:52.01 at the 2012 Prefontaine Classic.
