Jasmin Stowers Aiming for IAAF World Indoor ChampionshipsPublished by
Jasmin Stowers Has Big Goals In "Off" YearBy Adam Kopet Jasmin Stowers wants to represent the U.S. at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in March in the 60-meter hurdles, according to an IAAF feature by Cathal Dennehy. It would be Stowers' first U.S. team since she competed at the 2007 IAAF World Youth Championships. To race at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, UK, she will first need to place in the top two at the USATF Indoor Championships next month in Albuquerque, N.M. After indoors, Stowers will turn her focus to winning the Diamond League title in the 100-meter hurdles, which would grant her a bye into the 2019 IAAF World Outdoor Championships. Winning that Diamond League title will likely require Stowers to return to London Stadium where she fell and sustained a concussion while competing at the 2017 London Diamond League meeting. She missed two weeks of training while she healed. Stowers sees 2018 as a stepping stone to her biggest goal, winning Olympic gold.
