IAAF Awards All 11 World Indoor Tour Winners with World Indoor Championships Wild-Card BidsBy Adam Kopet The IAAF has extended wild-card bids to all 11 World Indoor Tour winners to compete in the IAAF World Indoor Championships this weekend, according to an IAAF release. The World Tour winners also are awarded $20,000 each in prize money. The men's winners are Bingtian Su of China in the 60 meters, Adam Kszczot of Poland in the 800, Yomif Kejelcha of Ethiopia in the 3,000, Piotr Lisek of Poland in the pole vault, Nelson Evora of Portugal in the triple jump and Tomas Stanek of the Czech Republic in the shot put. The women's winners are Lea Sprunger of Switzerland in the 400, Beatrice Chepkoech of Kenya in the 1,500, Christina Manning in the 60 hurdles, high jumper Maria Lasitskene of Russia, but competing as an authorized neutral athlete in international competition, and Sosthene Moguenara-Taroum of Germany in the long jump. The IAAF World Indoor Championships begin Thursday in Birmingham, U.K. More news |
