Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Returns to Action for First Time Since Giving Birth Last YearBy Adam Kopet Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is entered in the 100 meters at Saturday's Cayman Invitational, held in the Cayman Islands, according to trackalerts.com. The two-time Olympic 100-meter champion from Jamaica has not raced since the 2016 Olympics where she earned bronze in the 100 and silver with the Jamaican 4x100 relay team. Fraser-Pryce took 2017 off to give birth. Fraser-Pryce holds a personal best of 10.70 in the 100 from 2012. She ran 10.86 in the 2016 Olympic final win she captured her bronze medal. Also in the field are a trio of Americans: Jenna Prandini, Hannah Cunliffe and Aaliyah Brown. LaShawn Merritt is scheduled to compete in the 400 and Jamaica's Asafa Powell is scheduled to compete in the men's 100. More news |
