Nike design legend Tinker Hatfield, an Oregon alum and architect of the Air Jordan shoe and the Hayward Field scoreboard -- among many other things -- offered The Oregonian's Ken Goe a detailed email explaining why the new design is bad for spectators and bad for performances.
