Kate Hall to Leave Georgia to Focus on Earning 2019 IAAF World Outdoor Championships Spot

By Adam Kopet

Kate Hall is leaving the University of Georgia so that she can focus on qualifying for next year's IAAF World Outdoor Championships.

Hall, the high school national record holder in the long jump, will return home to Maine where she will train, according to Deirdre Fleming of the Portland Press Herald.

In her three years at Georgia, Hall won two NCAA titles in the long jump, winning the 2017 outdoor title and the 2018 indoor title. However, her performances have been up and down as a Bulldog. She finished 16th earlier this month at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships.

As a Lake Region ME senior, Hall broke the high school record in the long jump at the 2015 New Balance Nationals Outdoor with a leap of 22-5 (6.83m).

Hall is expected to work with her trainer Chris Pribish. He is co-owner and director of a gym in South Portland.
