Abderrahman Samba to Tackle Flat 400 Meters in LondonBy Adam Kopet Abderrahman Samba has been on fire this year in the 400-meter hurdles. Competing in Paris, he ran 46.98 seconds to become the second man to ever break 47 seconds in the event. This weekend competing at the London Diamond League meeting, Samba will take on the flat 400 meters. Facing off against Samba will be Kirani James, the 2012 Olympic 400-meter champion and 2016 Olympic runner-up. James missed last season and has only run twice this season. His best performance on the year was his 44.35 win at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica last month. Samba enters the weekend with a 400-meter best of 45.47 from an early season meet in South Africa. The London Diamond League meet takes place over two days, Friday and Saturday. A full list of entries is available at the Diamond League website. |
