All activites have been supspended on day five of the USA Youth Outdoor Championships at Southern Illinois University on the Edwardsville campus until 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Around 3:45 central time, an onslaught of rain interrupted the girls’ 13-14 800m final. The competitors completed the first 200m of the race when rain started to fall. When they concluded the first lap, officials deemed the conditions unsafe to compete and called the runners off the track.

Athletes and coaches were instructed by the public address announcer to check usatf.org later tonight to view the updated schedule.
