Craig Lutz to Retire After Final Mile Race on FridayPublished by
Craig Lutz Announces His Retirement from Professional RunningBy Adam Kopet Craig Lutz announced his professional running retirement Tuesday in a blog post. Lutz first came to prominence as a high school runner at Marcus TX. He won the 2009 NXN title his senior year and he qualified to compete at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships. In college at Texas, Lutz finished fourth at the 2015 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships in the 10,000 meters. As a professional runner with the HOKA ONE ONE Norther Arizona Elite, Lutz won the 2016 USATF Cross Country Championships. He also improved his personal bests on the track, running 7:48.64 for 3,000 meters, 13:36.03 for 5,000 meters and 28:33.14 for 10,000 meters. Lutz's final professional race will be Friday's Minnesota Mile.
After Lutz hangs up his racing shoes, he will work for HOKA ONE ONE in Santa Barbara. More news |
