Brooklyn Lyttle Pairs Wins In The Girls 55 Meters And Long Jump By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Carson Edwards from Field School DC won the boys 55-meter dash in a time of 6.34 seconds on Saturday at the Montgomery Indoor Invitational at Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md. The time was just off Edwards' best of 6.31, which is tied for the tops in the country so far this season. In the girls 500 meters, Oxon Hill teammates Gillian Stephens and Taylor Riley went 1-2. Stephens won it in US#9 1:16.14 and Riley was right behind with US#13 1:17.22. Stephens also won the 300 meters with a US#24 39.84. Carleen Lionel of Oxon Hill won the girls 200 in a meet record time of 25.66 seconds. Eric Penkala from Southern-AA MD won the boys invitational mile in 4:19.42. He won by seven seconds. Abigail Anstett from Georgetown Visitation Prep DC won the girls mile by 10 seconds in 5:02.72. She also won the 3,200 meters in 10:52.98. In the boys 800 meters, Jacob Martin from Paint Branch MD ran a US#8 time of 1:55.50. Malachi Braxton-Brown defeated his Largo MD teammate Malachi Williams in the 300 meters, 35.17 seconds to 35.29. They joined forces to help Largo win the sprint medley relay. The girls jumps produced some of the best performances in the meet. Sierra Swangin from James Hubert Blake MD won the girls high jump when she cleared 5-6 on her second try but was unable to get 5-8. Brooklyn Lyttle from Elizabeth Seton MD won the long jump with 18-8.85 and also the 55-meter dash in 7.12 seconds. Alejandra Williams of C.H.
