Washington's Joe Waskom, a recent addition to the Bowerman Award watchlist after running the third fastest collegiate mile of all-time, 3:51.90, joins DyeStat editor Doug Binder to discuss his incredible progress over the past year. Waskom won the NCAA Outdoors 1,500 meters title last June and has flourished under the coaching of Huskies coach Andy Powell and also benefitted from living with international members of his team, including Brian Fay of Ireland and Kieran Lumb of Canada, and previously Sam Tanner from New Zealand. Waskom grew up near Seattle and attended Mt. Si High and was a state champion in the 3,200 meters his senior year in 2019.
