Laura Muir Looking for Fifth Straight Win in Scottish International Cross Country Event

By Adam Kopet

Laura Muir was unbeaten over four years at the Great Edinburgh XCountry International Challenge. Now the event has moved to Stirling, but the Muir is set to return to compete Jan. 12 in the mixed 4 x 1,500-meter relay, according to the BBC.

Muir, who will be joined by Jamie WilliamsonPhil Sesemann and Alex Bell in Stirling, previously anchored the Great Britain team to victory in 2018. Team Europe will feature the Spanish quartet of Esther Guerrero, Saul Ordonez, Solange Pereira and Victor Ruiz.

The American team has yet to be announced for the annual event. In addition to the mixed relay race, there will also be senior and junior level races.

Unlike past years, when the junior athletes competed in separate team races by gender, the U-20 event is scheduled to be a mixed relay, meaning only two male and two female competitors from each region will be selected.
