Kendal Williams Decides to Turn Pro Following Graduation from GeorgiaBy Adam Kopet Kendal Williams earned his degree from Georgia last week. He posted to social media that he has decided to turn pro and forgo his remaining eligibility.
Williams departs Georgia with personal bests of 9.99 in the 100 meters and 20.15 in the 200 meters. He was third this year in the 200 at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships. He won both the 100 and 200 at the SEC Outdoor Championships this year. Williams made an international name for himself in 2014 at the IAAF World U-20 Championships in Eugene, Ore. He won the 100, running 10.21, ending a 10-year drought for the U.S. in the event. He also added gold in the 4x100 relay with his U.S. teammates. Prior to competing for Georgia, Williams competed for Florida State. It has not been announced what Williams will do next. More news |
