As the top high school multi-event athlete in the country, Anna Hall knows her overall success in the indoor pentathlon or outdoor heptathlon comes down to her performance in the 800 meters.

In her final tuneup for the USATF Indoor Championships in two weeks in New York, the Valor Christian CO senior had a rare opportunity to compete in the 800 in the middle of a three-event schedule Saturday at the 10th annual Great Southwest Indoor Classic and Hall took full advantage.

RESULTS | INTERVIEWS

Hall, representing FK Elite, surged in front of North Canyon AZ junior Dominique Mustin just past the midway point and never relinquished control, clocking a personal-best 2 minutes, 11.81 seconds at Albuquerque Convention Center.

Hall, a Georgia signee, was the only female athlete to win three events, but it was her meet-record effort in the 800 that earned her the top girls’ performance, with fellow Colorado standout Kain Medrano of Pueblo East, a UCLA commit, selected the boys’ honoree after setting a meet record of 54-11.25 (16.74m) in the shot put.

Hall also increased her own meet record in the high jump by clearing 5-9 (1.75m), including a 5-7 clearance less than 10 minutes after holding off Mustin (2:13.73) in the 800. She also edged Myreanna Bebe of Queen Creek AZ by an 8.62 to 8.66 margin in the 60 hurdles in a race that produced the second- and third-fastest times in meet history.

Buford GA senior Alexa Rossum, representing Atl Zoom Athletics, achieved an impressive double by clocking a meet-record 7.40 in the girls 60, in addition to producing the No. 2 performance in meet history in the 200 to prevail in 23.88.

Teammate Trinity Price won the 400 in 58.14 and took third in the 400 in 24.62.

Regis Jesuit CO senior Zion Gordon, competing for FK Elite, won the 60 hurdles in a meet-record 7.86 and then returned less than an hour later to prevail in the 60-meter dash in 6.85.

Houston Memorial junior Claire Bryant, representing Houston Christian Track Club, won the girls long jump with a meet-record 19-8 (5.99m), in addition to taking second to Hall in the high jump with a 5-7 clearance.

El Paso Franklin sophomore Eva Jess doubled in the mile (5:12.66) and 3,200 (11:14.83).

Monarch CO junior Mia Manson, representing Above the Bar and Real Training, repeated as girls pole vault champion with a 12-foot clearance (3.65m) and placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 17-9.50 (5.42m).

Her brother Max Manson, a Stanford signee competing for Above the Bar, cleared 17 feet (5.18m) to triumph in the boys pole vault.

Regis Jesuit senior Hailey Harris won the girls triple jump with an effort of 37-7.25 (11.46m), Amarillo TX senior Taylor Mixon, competing for Sandstorm Track Club, prevailed in the shot put with a mark of 38-7.75 (11.78m) and Mojave NV junior Belle Cadle, representing Throwers Respect, secured a victory in the weight throw with a performance of 34-6.25 (10.52m).

Brophy Prep AZ senior Elisha Brooks won the boys 200 in 21.89, El Paso Burges TX senior Joshua White prevailed in the 400 in 49.12 and Maya Cruz of Los Alamos NM earned a victory in the 800 in 1:57.27.

Waller TX senior Kenneth Talavera Ruiz won the boys mile in 4:27.56, with Cleveland NM senior Yonas Haile clocking 10:17.73 to prevail in the 3,200.

Chandler AZ sophomore Nicolas Nesbitt won the boys long jump with a leap of 21-5.25 (6.53m), Queen Creek AZ junior Marcus Harris captured the triple jump with an effort of 41-10.50 (12.76m) and Las Vegas Centennial NV senior Davone Walden cleared 6-3 (1.90m) to earn the high jump victory.

Liberty NV senior Corey Moore, representing Throwers Respect, prevailed in the weight throw with a 58-5.75 (17.82m) effort.
