Jessica Hull Turns Pro with One Season of Eligibility RemainingBy Adam Kopet Jessica Hull of Oregon has turned pro and signed with Total Sports US.
The Australian middle-distance runner gives up one season of outdoor eligibility as she moves into the professional ranks. Hull is a four-time NCAA champion, winning the distance medley relay at the 2018 NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships, the 1,500 meters at the 2018 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships and both the 3,000 meters and distance medley relay at the 2019 NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships. She also finished third at the 2018 NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships and runner-up in the 1,500 meters at the 2019 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships. During her time at Oregon, Hull has run personal bests of 4:06.27 for 1,500 meters, 4:31.03 for the mile, 8:53.91 for 3,000 meters and 15:34.93 for 5,000 meters. Her 1,500-meter performance, which came at this year's NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships, places her fourth on the collegiate all-time list. Hull's first pro race will come in the 1,500 meters June 30 at the Prefontaine Classic. This year the meet will be held at Stanford while Hayward Field is under construction in preparation for the 2021 IAAF World Outdoor Championships. More news |
