Rory Linkletter To Race Canadian Marathon Championships in Marathon DebutBy Adam Kopet The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon announced Thursday on Instagram that Rory Linkletter will make his marathon debut at the 2019 race, scheduled for Oct. 20. The race will serve as the Canadian Marathon Championships and the selection race for the 2020 Olympics.
Linkletter finished his collegiate career at BYU this spring. He finished second in the 10,000 meters at the 2017 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships. He has a 10,000-meter personal best of 28:12.42 from this year's Payton Jordan Invitational. Linkletter has since joined the HOKA ONE ONE Northern Arizona Elite. He represented Canada on Friday at the 18th Pan American Games, finishing sixth in the 10,000 meters in 28:38.49. He will join Cam Levins, the Canadian record holder in the marathon, as an athlete already announced for the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. The race will be broadcast on AthleticsCanada.TV. More news |
