Sims clocked a national-leading 7.76 seconds, moving ahead of Tyler Graves of Lower Richland SC and his 7.77 effort from Feb. 1 at the Mondo Elite Invitational at JDL Fast Track in North Carolina. Sims, a Syracuse signee, clocked 7.82 seconds in the semifinals. Jett Kinder, one of the top multi-event athletes in the country, accounted for 26 of Brentwood’s 30 points by winning the shot put with a mark of 52-8.75 (16.07m), in addition to placing second in the high jump with a 6-4 clearance (1.93m) and runner-up in the pole vault by making 14-9 (4.50m).
