Montoya Works In Pharmacy At King Soopers Supermarket And Confirmed She Is Safe

Monday's mass casualty shooting at a Boulder supermarket shook the country and was a close-call for one of the many elite distance runners who call the area home. 

Maggie Montoya, just days after a seventh-place finish at the USA 15 km Road Running Championship in Jacksonville, Fla., was working the pharmacy at King Soopers when the attack took place. 

Montoya was fortunately able to barricade herself with co-workers until the danger passed, according to the Roots Running Twitter feed. 

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the victims of Monday's shooting.
