DeAnna Price Breaks Her Own American Hammer Throw RecordPublished by
Price Throws No. 3 Mark In World History At Tom Botts Invitational By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor In her second competition of 2021, world champion DeAnna Price threw a new lifetime-best mark in the women's hammer Friday at the Tom Botts Invitational in Columbia, Mo. Price rolled out a tremendous six-round series but her fifth-round toss traveled 257-10 (78.60m) and she broke her own American record by about 14 inches. That throw came after a fourth-round throw of 255-3 (77.20m). Price now owns nine of the top 10 throws in U.S. history. Her record-setting mark Friday moves her up one spot to No. 3 on the all-time world list. World record holder Anita Wlodarczyk of Poland has the top 15 throws of all-time and the only other thrower who has gone farther is Germany's Betty Heidler, who has the 16th-best throw. Price's throw ranks 21st all-time and is the farthest ever achieved in North America. More news |
