TrackTown USA Announces Spectators Will Be Welcome At Hayward Field By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor A gradually improving trend in Oregon, plus the recent shift in policy allowing spectators to attend sporting events, is leading to good news for the U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene. Very few spectators have seen in-person the four meets hosted so far in 2021 by the University of Oregon. But improving access granted by the Oregon Health Authority has led to spectators being able to attending sporting events in the state, such as the NBA playoffs series between the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers. Sections of seating are now filled by a fans who can prove they have been vaccinated for COVID-19. The Olympic Trials, coming June 18-27, will mark the fourth consecutive time they have been held in Eugene. The LOC is still working through its ticketing plan, but those who retrained ticket orders through April appear to be now able to attend, even if their seats may change. More news |
