Cridge, ranked No. 11 in the US Top 30, separated from her nearest competition by 31 seconds to win Indiana's single-class state meet race in 17:32.7. She began to separate 1,000 meters into the race and pulled away. The Indianapolis Bishop Chatard junior did not complete the season in 2020 and was eighth as a freshman in 2019. Nicki Southerland of Delta, a sophomore, finished second in 18:03.6. Defending champion Karina James of Lowell was sixth. US#17 Columbus North edged US#19 Carmel 79-92 for the girls team championship.
