Andre Korbmacher, Iowa Trio Run State All-Time Indoor Bests at MVP Vibe Fest Chicagoland

Korbmacher lowers own Washington boys 60-meter hurdles mark, with Carney equaling Iowa girls indoor hurdling record; Noe eclipses 3,200 record, as does Mace-Maynard in boys 800

A Washington indoor all-time best and three Iowa records highlighted the MVP Vibe Fest Chicagoland event Saturday at the Gately Indoor Track and Field Center in Illinois.

Andre Korbmacher, a junior at Squalicum High representing Ready-Set-Go Sprinters, lowered his own Washington state mark in the club section of the 60-meter hurdles by clocking 7.80 seconds.

RESULTS

Korbmacher improved from his 7.89 performance Dec. 19 at the Grant Holloway AAU Invitational at Virginia Beach Sports Center, elevating to the No. 2 prep performer in the country this season.

He also ran an indoor-best 21.79 in the 200 meters to place third, along with contributing to a 1:30.11 effort in the 4x200 relay that helped Ready-Set-Go Sprinters finish fourth.

Mackenzie Carney, an Iowa State-bound senior at Waukee Northwest representing Xlr8 Iowa Track Club, equaled the fastest 60-meter hurdles performance in state history by prevailing in 8.83.

Carney, who improved on her previous-best 8.88 from Feb. 6 at Northwest Missouri State, matched the 2019 performance of Peyton Steva of Iowa City West.

Paityn Noe, a junior at Ballard Community High also competing for Xlr8 Iowa Track Club, triumphed in the girls 3,200 meters in 10:23.20, the fastest indoor performance in state history and No. 6 nationally this season.

Stephanie Jenks, a Linn-Mar graduate, established the previous Iowa girls indoor record of 10:30.19 in 2014.

Andrew Regnier, a junior at Waunakee High in Wisconsin, earned a victory in the boys 800 in 1:53.91, with Jackson Mace-Maynard of Netwon High producing the fastest indoor performance in Iowa history to place runner-up in 1:54.35.

Mace-Maynard, also competing for Xlr8 Iowa Track Club, surpassed the 2016 mark of 1:55.53 achieved by Dowling Catholic graduate Ryan Schweizer.

Kennedi Sanders, an LSU-bound senior at Madison-Ridgeland Academy in Mississippi representing XCEL Athletics Track and Field Club, won the 60-meter dash in 7.39 seconds, equal to No. 5 in the country.

She also prevailed in the 200 in 24.09 to elevate to No. 8 nationally this season.

Jordan Anthony of Tylertown High in Mississippi, also competing for XCEL Athletics Track and Field Club, was impressive in the 200 with the third-fastest prep performance in the country this year at 21.06.

Wilson Georges, a Colorado-bound senior from Limestone High in Illinois, clocked 9:00.84 in the 3,200.

Ali Ince of Normal Community High in Illinois held off Colorado signee Addy Wiley of Huntington North High in Indiana by a 2:10.11 to 2:10.27 margin in the 800.

Mary Grace Hegberg, a Georgetown commit from St. Viator High in Illinois, secured a victory in the 1,600 in 4:51.10.

Roisin Willis, a Stanford-bound senior from Stevens Point High in Wisconsin, finished fourth in the Olympic Development section of the 400 in 53.87. Former South Carolina standout Aliyah Abrams triumphed in 52.38.

Shannon Ray, an Ole Miss graduate, won the Olympic Development 60-meter dash in 7.24.

Canadian athletes swept the men’s Olympic Development 60 and 400, with Bolade Ajomale holding off Anthony by a 6.59 to 6.65 margin, in addition to Philip Osei prevailing in 46.62.
